We have just moved http://www.downloadgamemods.com to a new private server on a gigabit network. Changes may take up to 24 hours to have effect. You guys should see a rapid increase in download speeds.

That's correct, because the mod database on downloadgamemods was not in sync with driftmods.net
The driftmods mods will be ported to DGM, but I can only work on this in the weekends.

You must have misread my post.

Can anyone tell me if they notice any speed differences on http://www.downloadgamemods.com ? The server and it's network have been upgraded. (Note: this is still running the old crappy website)
I have noticed significant speed increases on my end.
Try switching between pages in the menu and compare it to what it used to be.

He is concentrating on the function of the whole website, so it won`t crash after a while, not on the downloads.
Your mods will be posted when they will be posted.

For anyone who's interested and/or wondering why it's taking so long.

I am writing a new web application from scratch in Node.js + Sails.js + Passport.js (backend) combined with an Angular.js + Angular Material (frontend) powered by Bower + Grunt

I want to provide a fast, future-proof and especially dynamic website which follows the Google material design guidelines.

The current website sucks, I don't plan on fixing it or doing anything to it (like adding new mods). I am a web developer from 9 to 5 and I usually work in the evenings/nights to get try and get stuff finished before the deadlines. I have a little sparetime in the weekends, to keep my skills up to date, which I can use to work on the new DGM website at the same time.

Hello,

I have just added more server optimizations. Can anyone confirm the speed of the website on http://downloadgamemods.com/ ?
Try switching between pages on the left sdie menu.

Note: we're still running the old/slow website, but these changes will affect the new website too.

Still down for me :/

EDIT: Connection Timed Out on my main ADSL Connection, but it works on my mobile device internet. Yeah, i would say it's a lil bit faster.

Still down? That's weird, it has been up for 8 days and 18 hours now.
I don't think it can get any faster than this though, the website feels like a local website to me, there are no loading times.

I have just installed a SSL certificate on the DGM server, all your requests should now automatically be forwarded to the https (secure) url.
