Let's say you want a separate color slider for the hood. The hood is a part of the TOP side of a mod. First, in 3ds max I use a single material for the whole TOP side of the car (xr  top2 0 a, for instance). I export the mesh to zmodeler, open it in car importer and fix the TOP2 material, save. Back in 3ds max, I use a new material for the the hood only (xr top3 0 a, for exampe). Zmodeler, then car importer, copy paste the TOP2 material that I have just assigned to the TOP side, name it TOP3, write Color:#3 (1,2,3, depending on the number of color sliders already present on the mod) in the box sitting right to the Texture Name box and save (no fixing required). The hood should have a color slider ingame.

Thank you. Only one question. How much objects can change colour in game (in correct i mean how much color side i can use in game) ? There is some limit of it ?

There can be 4 colour sliders afaik.

It's almost impossible to make online compatible mods with this method, you have to use Gen_black ;)

I see,i have an problem with genblack tho.When i try to load something to that gui thing it i get something like an error "SyntaxError: invalid syntax " know anything about it mate?

Hmm, I've never encountered such problem...
But.. Do you use gen_black from Frito or this older one?

I`m still saying that lfscarimp mods DO work online,but everybody must have the exact same mods.
No need for those splitted gen black mods

hmm i dont know which version is it but i think its with fritos script on it,i ve downloaded it from one of our posts here in the community

EH it wont work out,i want to mod the xrg so i can only see it and use it online.And the funny thing its i dont want to do some serious changes.only some seats and a new exhaust will be cool :D

I see,i`m pretty sure you can find such XRT`s on the internetz. But otherwise,i`m playing a lot online with 0.6b with team members,with mods and tweaks and so on. Also ,i never go to a public server with mods installed.

hello everyone ...

I want to start making some mods so hard ,and i found this tutorial ...BUT

I read everything but i dont know how to start...

I need to work on a nissan silvia s13 or onevia at first so if someone can give me a link to download ,i would appreciate it...

secondly ,tutorial comes with two files...xrt materials and xrt b.max model... problem is that i cant understand how to follow chapter one...how do i remove the unneccecary parts of the car ,when the programme recognizes only one object and selects in all...??

i dont know also if i have to open the xrt materials file first...
i hope you understand what i am saying...

if anyone is still in this forum i would appreciate his help very very much guys

Are you serious? In that tutorial there's step by step instructions how to select objects and delete stuff + images...
Select 1 object -> right mouse button -> hide unselected -> Go to the modifier selection menu on which is visible on the right. -> You can select poly by clicking on it using select object.
CTRL + DRAG MOUSE = select poly
CTRL + ALT + DRAG MOUSE = deselect poly
or select the poly’s 1 by 1.
Which part of that you don't understand?

xrt materials opening, that's all in tutorial too:
Open the XR_Materials.max file that came
with this tutorial (file -> open) .
This max file contains a full set of materials
that you need to create a mod for XR.
Now merge the .max file you made in
chapter ‘1. Separating parts into multiple
objects’ with the XR_Materials.max.
file -> merge.
I have really no idea how this things can be written with even easier language.


You'll get best experience by PRACTICE, click this, click that, look at what some stuff makes what, don't worry to mess something up on the first time, make backups and practise! ;)

thank you very much for your respond first of all ...

maybe the problem is that i use autodesk student 2013 but my problem is that,in the model that comes with this tutorial i cant see the objects i need to...

so i believe that it is one object and needs different method to separate ...maybe you dont understand me ,and maybe i am wrong...

i keep practising
